Made purely with single origin Peruvian chocolate (not cocoa powder), with no added sugar, this hot chocolate is a comforting treat. On a bleak and cold winter day, this is sure to cheer you up. For an even more sublime experience, stir your hot chocolate with a chocolate spoon.

  If you like a little spice with your chocolate, you’ll love this hot chocolate, which earned a 2021 Silver Award from the International Chocolate Salon. Made with 70% dark chocolate, it features a flavorful blend of cinnamon and 3 different chili peppers: ancho, cayenne, and chimayo. My journalism skills came in handy for tracking down authentic chimayo pepper—a (disconnected) phone number someone had written on a scrap of paper ultimately led me to a small family farm that grows this prized New Mexican pepper. For an added treat, stir your spicy hot chocolate with a chocolate spoon.
