These individually hand-painted hot chocolate bombs are made with one of my favorite Valrhona single-origin chocolates, produced from rare Gran Blanco cacao beans that grow in the tropical rainforest of northern Peru. They are filled to the brim with additional grated chocolate and 5 mini vegan marshmallows, for a decadent cup of steaming hot chocolate.
Sure, you can make hot cocoa bombs with inferior chocolate or candy melts, filling them with cocoa powder and sugar. But if you’re going to treat yourself to hot chocolate, why not treat yourself to the crème de la crème? These are packaged individually, nestled in a clear box festooned with a mini-bow, perfect for gifts and stocking stuffers.
For best results: Place the hot chocolate bomb in a narrow mug. Heat 6 oz. of milk until almost boiling. Pour over the hot chocolate bomb and wait a minute or so for it to melt and the marshmallows to pop up to the top. Stir really well and reheat slightly if necessary. Enjoy!
